The owners wanted to remove the existing, dysfunctional, rarely used patio room and create a new sunroom/entertainment center that would maintain the integrity of the rest of the home with respect to materials and design. The existing drop-down patio (concrete floor covered by tile) was elevated with a new raised floor, up to the level of the existing home, and expanded out approximately 2' towards the pool. New openings to the nook and the dining area were created to match the existing casework detail in adjacent areas. Painted beveled wood ceilings, crown molding and window casing details were copied exactly to match adjoining areas. Matching hardwood floors were installed to create a seamless look and flow from the existing to new space.
