In order to interact with and use the ServiceLane.com service you agree to the following terms. These terms are designed to ensure that ServiceLane.com works for everyone. ServiceLane.com is provided to you by Compass Capital Inc. a Private Equity company located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Terms - you hereby agree through your use of and access to ServiceLane.com to not do any of the following:

  • violate any laws;
  • be false or misleading;
  • infringe any third-party right;
  • distribute or contain spam, chain letters, or pyramid schemes;
  • distribute viruses or any other technologies that may harm ServiceLane.com or the interests or property of ServiceLane.com users;
  • impose an unreasonable load on our infrastructure or interfere with the proper working of the ServiceLane.com website, application, or any current or future technology;
  • use a robot, spider, scraper or other automated means to access ServiceLane.com and collect content for any purpose without our express written permission;
  • harvest or otherwise collect information about others, including email addresses, without their consent;
  • bypass measures used to prevent or restrict access to ServiceLane.com

Interactions with Other ServiceLane.com Users. Please inform ServiceLane.com via email interaction@servicelane.com about any problems or offensive content so that together we can keep the site working properly. If we find that a homeowner or service provider has acted improperly then we reserve the right to limit or terminate service for such individuals without notice. This may include removing hosted content and taking technical and legal steps to keep such users from interacting with ServiceLane.com and our users. This action may occur if we think a party or parties are abusing our service or are acting inconsistently with the letter or spirit of our policies. However, whether we decide to take any of these steps, remove hosted content or remove a user or not, we do not accept any liability for failing to act in a timely manner or for unauthorized or unlawful content on our site.

Governing Law. Since ServiceLane.com operates in numerous countries and across state and provincial lines, our users agree to not violate local law or policy. We may remove your content if it is brought to our attention, or if we believe it causes problems or violates any law or policy.

Fees and Services. ServiceLane.com is generally free. However we may charge fees for certain services and upgrades. Payment of such fees in no way establishes agency with Servicelane.com. If the service you use charges a fee, you will be able to review and accept that charge. Our fees are quoted in US Dollars, and we may change them from time to time. Our fees are non-refundable, and you are responsible for paying them when they're due. If you don't, we may limit your ability to use the services.

Content. ServiceLane.com was created to be rich with content. It is prohibited to steal from us or our service providers. If you upload content to ServiceLane.com you may at any time request that it be removed by requesting this through email to remove@servicelane.com. You agree not to copy, modify, or distribute ServiceLane.com, our copyrights or trademarks. When you give us content, you are granting us a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, sub-licensable right to exercise the copyright, publicity, and database rights to that content. (We need these rights to host and display your content.) If you believe that your rights have been violated, please notify us at copyright@servicelane.com and we will investigate. We reserve the right to remove content where we have grounds for suspecting the violation of these terms or the rights of any other party.

Reporting Intellectual Property Infringements (Verified Rights Owners - VeRO) Do not post content that infringes the rights of third parties. This includes, but is not limited to, content that infringes on intellectual property rights such as copyright and trademark. We reserve the right to remove content where we have grounds for suspecting the violation of these terms, our policies or of any party's rights.

Liability. You agree not to hold us responsible for things other users post or do. It is understood that ServiceLane.com is a community and as such some members may at times do things that are not legal or ethical. We will always take steps to correct any matter that is properly reported. Accordingly, to the extent legally permitted we expressly disclaim all warranties, representations and conditions, express or implied, including those of quality, merchantability, merchantable quality, durability, fitness for a particular purpose and those arising by statute. We are not liable for any loss, whether of money (including profit), goodwill, or reputation, or any special, indirect, or consequential damages arising out of your use of ServiceLane.com, even if you advise us or we could reasonably foresee the possibility of any such damage occurring. Some jurisdictions do not allow the disclaimer of warranties or exclusion of damages, so such disclaimers and exclusions may not apply to you.

Despite the previous paragraph, if we are found to be liable, our liability to you or any third party (whether in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability in tort, by statute or otherwise) is limited to the greater of (a) the total fees you pay to us in the 12 months prior to the action giving rise to liability, or (b) 100 US Dollars.

Personal Information. By using ServiceLane.com, you agree to the collection, transfer, storage and use of your personal information by Compass Capital Inc. We may, at our discretion, communicate with you via email on matters related to your interaction with us. You will be given full opportunity to opt out of any ongoing communication we send to you. General. These terms and the other policies posted on ServiceLane.com constitute the entire agreement between Compass Capital & ServiceLane.com and you, superseding any prior agreements. This agreement is governed by the laws of Canada. We both submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Halifax, Nova Scotia. This will not affect your statutory rights if you are a consumer and applicable consumer law requires application of another law (such as the law of your country of residence) for certain topics. If we don't enforce any particular provision, we are not waiving our right to do so later. If a court strikes down any of these terms, the remaining terms will survive. We may automatically assign this agreement at our sole discretion in accordance with the notice provision below. Re: ServiceLane.com

We will send notices to you via the email address you provide, or by registered mail. Notices sent by registered mail will be deemed received five days following the date of mailing. We may update this agreement at any time, with updates taking effect when you next use the site or after 30 days, whichever is sooner. No other amendment to this agreement will be effective unless made in writing, signed by users and by us.

Privacy

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Compass Capital, Inc., collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from Users (each, a "User") of the ServiceLane.com website ("Site"). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by Compass Capital, Inc.

Personal Identification Information. We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users register on the Site, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and other information relevant to their interaction with us. Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personal identification information, though that may prevent them from engaging in certain Site-related activities.

Non-personal Identification Information. We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users' means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized, and other similar information.

Web Browser Cookies. Our Site may use "cookies" to enhance User experience, for record-keeping purposes, and for information tracking. User may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert them when cookies are being sent. If they refuse cookies, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.

How We Use Collected Information. Compass Capital, Inc. may collect and use Users' personal information for the following purposes:

  • To improve customer service: Information Users provide helps us respond to customer service requests and support needs more efficiently;
  • To personalize user experience: We may identify a User by screen name provided, and provide them access to stored interactions within our service. We may use information in the aggregate to understand how our Users as a group use the services and resources provided on our Site. And we may use feedback Users provide to improve our products and services;
  • To process payments: We may use the payment information Users provide when placing an order only to provide service to that order. We do not share this payment information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to provide the service;
  • To share information with third parties: In the course of providing our core service - finding Users service providers for their projects - we may share information with third parties to expedite that service. Those parties may use that information for marketing or other purposes. Additionally, we may use third party service providers to help us operate our business and the Site or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys. We may share your information with these third parties for those limited purposes;
  • To send periodic emails: We may use the email address to send Users information and updates pertaining to their interactions with our service.

How We Protect Information. We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of Users' personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site.

Third Party Websites. Users may find advertising or other content on our Site that links to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Site. In addition, these sites or services, including their content and links, may change. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our Site, is subject to that website's own terms and policies.

Advertising. Ads appearing on our Site may be delivered to Users by advertising partners, who may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize User's computer each time they send an online advertisement to compile non-personal identification information about User or others who use that computer. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to User. This privacy policy does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

Google Adsense. Some ads may be served by Google. Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to Users based on their visit to our Site and other sites on the Internet. DART uses "non personally identifiable information" and does NOT track personal information about you, such as your name, email address, physical address, etc. You may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy at http://www.google.com/privacy_ads.html

Changes to this Privacy Policy. Compass Capital, Inc. has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, the date of the revision will be noted at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. User acknowledges and agrees that it is User's responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

Acceptance of these Terms. By using this Site, User signifies acceptance of this policy and terms of service. If User does not agree to this policy, please do not use our Site. User's continued use of the Site following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed acceptance of those changes.
